Apollo Arts was founded by Emmy & Travis Moon in the summer of 2011 with a little dream of providing an artistic outlet and community for artists to feed their passion in the art of aerial dance and circus arts. Iluminar Aerial, a professional aerial dance and circus arts performance company was the very first DBA under our Apollo umbrella. Iluminar started off inside a gymnastics facility providing classes on the weekends and after team practices in the evenings. After growing their student base within the first year, they moved to the Industrial Lane location in August of 2013. Apollo grew to be an all encompassing arts facility that offers classes for children and adults as well as performance companies for youth, teens and adults. Their professional productions are premiered every Halloween and May at the Lakewood Cultural Center.

The Apollo name is special to the Moons as it represents the first successful mission to the moon-Apollo 11- and 2011 was the year the Apollo Company name was first created. Apollo is also the god of sun, music and dance which makes it an even more appropriate name for this space.
